It's the perfect night to invite your friends and family to help fill Citizens Business Bank Arena for our FOURTH straight sellout, and watch the team play for their FOURTH Pacific Division Championship. TONIGHT:
The Ontario Reign (40-17-3-3) will play their final game of the series season against the Las Vegas Wranglers (17-38-4-3). Ontario holds a 7-1-0-0 record over the Wranglers through their eight games played this season. The Reign have outscored the Wranglers 29-20.
MAGIC #1:
With a total of 86 points, the Reign are first in the Pacific Division, second in the Western Conference, and second in the league. The Stockton Thunder trail the Reign in the Pacific Division by 22 points which means with an overtime or regulation win tonight, the Reign will earn their third consecutive Pacific Division title, and their fourth all-time Division Championship. Alternately, a Stockton loss tonight will have the same effect on the Reign, resulting in a Division title.
LAST TIME IN OVERTIME:
The Reign went 14 games without going into overtime or shootout until their last game against the Bakersfield Condors when a 3-3 game couldn't be decided in 60 minutes. The overtime period lasted about two minutes before the Condors scored to win the game. This loss marked Ontario's first overtime loss on the road, and their first overtime loss against a Pacific Division team.
THEY CAN'T STOP:
Maxim Kitsyn and Matt Register are tied for second in the league with a current point streak of eight games. Register has the lead with 12 points (4g, 8a) and Kitsyn has 11 points (6g, 5a) in that span. Rocco Carzo is creeping up with a six-game point streak of his own good for eight points (2g, 6a). The Reign is on a team streak with five straight wins at home and a six-game point streak (5-0-1-0).
HELP FROM ABOVE:
The Reign received some help from the AHL this week with the return of Kyle BIgos (WOR) and Mathias Niederberger (MAN), and the addition of Lane Scheidl (WOR) to their roster in time for the team's playoff push.
