THIRSTY THURSDAY / HALFWAY TO HALLOWEEN NIGHT

TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: With a weekend sweep of Elmira under their belts, the Cyclones open a critical road trip through the South Division tonight as they visit the Orlando Solar Bears for the only time this season. The Solar Bears squeaked out a 4-2 win over the Clones back in November - taking a slim 2-1 edge in the all-time series.

SCOUTING THE SOLAR BEARS: Vince Williams' club, much like Cincinnati, is in the thick of the Eastern Conference race. As of tonight, they rank fourth in the standings - just four points ahead of the Cyclones. Former Fort Wayne Komet Mickey Lang is the Solar Bears leading scorer with 67 points (39 goals, 28 assists) in 52 games - good for third in the ECHL. Jacob Cepis, one of the many former Trenton Titans now in Orlando, is second on the club with 46 tallies (16 goals, 30 assists) in 39 contests. The Solar Bears have been a goaltending carousel this year, with nine different faces tending the pipes. Currently, Miami University alum Cody Reichard is their leading man - going 14-8-3-3 this season with a 3.21 goals-against average. Recently added Maxime Clermont won his Solar Bears debut and is now 7-9-0-1 overall with a 3.41 GAA.

LAST HEAD-TO-HEAD MEETING: NOVEMBER 13, 2013: Forwards Zach Harrison and David Rutherford scored goals just 13 seconds apart in the third period to help lift the Solar Bears past the Cincinnati Cyclones by a 4-2 final score in front of 2,298 at U.S. Bank Arena.

Blue-Line Streak: Cyclones defenseman Taylor Aronson continues to be a point producer. He has notched 30 points (4g, 26a) this season, which ranks eighth among all ECHL rear guards. The Nashville Predators prospect has nearly doubled his previous career high in offense.

The New Guy: As another week of hockey unfolds, the Cyclones added another fresh face this week - forward Joe Basaraba. The Florida Panthers third-round draft pick in 2010 just completed a four-year career at Univeristy of Minnesota-Duluth, where he compiled 56 points in 148 career games.
