Tonight's Game:

It's 90's night at Greater Nevada Field as the Reno Aces will look to avenge an extra innings loss to the Fresno Grizzlies a night ago. On the hill for the home team will be Matt Koch who is making his second theme night start of the season. He lost on Margaritaville night on July 6 against Sacramento but pitched very well going six innings while allowing one run on three hits. In July overall, Koch has been good owning a 1-1 record with a 3.32 ERA over 19 innings. In his last start against El Paso, he went eight innings, the longest start of the season for Reno, and allowed just one run. Starting for Fresno will be righty J.J. Hoover who enters the matchup with a 3-3 record and 7.41 ERA. Hoover has appeared in four games this season out of the bullpen against the Aces owning a 0-0 record and 6.00 ERA over six innings.

Notes:

Return of the Mack: Infielder Domingo Leyba was optioned from Arizona to Reno prior to tonight's game. It will be his first game in the Aces lineup since July 4 against Sacramento. His bat will be a big boost. The switch-hitter is batting .304 this season with Reno with 15 home runs, 54 RBIs, 59 runs scored with a .356 on-base percentage. He hit .333 over nine at-bats in the big leagues this year with an RBI and run scored. Reliever Stefan Crichton was recalled by the Diamondbacks today as well.

Fresh Prince of Reno: Infielder Josh Prince was signed as a minor league free agent on July 11 by the Aces. Since he debuted, he has a hit in every game compiling an eight-game hit streak in the process. He is 10-for-29 (.345) with four RBIs, four doubles, six runs scored with .387 on-base percentage.

The Birthday Boy: Aces outfielder, Matt Szczur, turned 30 years old today. He was born on July 20, 1989. He's hitting .354 over 113 at-bats this season for Reno with seven home runs, 24 RBIs, and 29 runs scored. He cycled for the team on May 20 against Tacoma. Szczur won a World Series ring in 2016 with the Chicago Cubs appearing in 107 games batting .259 with five home runs, 24 RBIs, and 30 runs scored while playing all three outfield positions. He also won a 2009 FCS National Championship with the Villanova Wildcats as Wide Receiver.
