ABOUT LAST NIGHT: The Indians and IronPigs were only able to play into the top of the second inning before rain halted the contest, and later suspending it. Max Moroff clubbed a one-out, solo home run in the top of the first for the game's only run so far. Friday's game will resume at 5:35 p.m. in the top of the second inning with two outs and nobody on base for the Tribe. While the first game will go a full nine innings, game two, Saturday's originally scheduled game, will be scheduled for seven innings.

WE HAVE COMPANY: With last night's suspension and Columbus' victory in Ohio, the Indians are now a half-game behind the Clippers atop the International League's West Division. The Tribe had been in sole possession of first place since July 25, and had led the Clippers by as many as 4.5 games. The race appears to be headed for a tight finish, even though Toledo (now in third place) led by as many as 8.5 games over the Indians on June 2.

I'M THE NEW MAN: With Kevin Newman's promotion to Pittsburgh, the big question is how the Indians will replace him atop the batting order on a nightly basis. Pablo Reyes occupied the lead-off spot Thursday and went 2-for-5 with a run scored, raising his season average to .301. Reyes has started most of his games with the Tribe in the nine-spot, but he's batting just .256 (51-for-199) at the bottom of the order. In a combined 31 starts in other spots, Reyes' average soars to .387 (41-for-107) with seven doubles, three homers, 12 RBIs, and 22 runs scored.

WELCOME BACK, JOSE: Jose Osuna has played in seven games since returning from Pittsburgh, and he's reached base safely in all of them. He has nine hits during the stretch, and three multi-RBI games after last night's 2-for-4, 2 RBI effort. His .323 average would be the second-best mark in the circuit if he had enough at-bats with the Tribe to qualify. Despite the success since his return, oddly, the Indians are just 1-6 since he rejoined the squad.
