LAST NIGHT: For a second time in as many days, the Indians let a late lead slip away in Toledo en route to a 5-4 loss. The Tribe led 4-2 until the Mud Hens scored three runs in the eighth off Blake Cederlind, the big blow being a two-run homer off the bat of Jeimer Candelario that gave Toledo the lead for good. Indy put runners on the corners with two outs in the ninth, but Kevin Kramer was caught looking at a fastball by Daniel Stumpf to end the game. Toledo mounted a 2-0 lead with single runs in the first and second against Yefry Ramirez, but the Indians rallied for a three-run third to grab their first lead. Jason Martin cut the deficit to 2-1 with an RBI double, and a sac fly by Kramer and run-scoring single by Ke'Bryan Hayes made it 3-2. Consecutive doubles by Hayes and Will Craig in the eighth added an insurance run before the bullpen faltered.

THE TOLL MAN: INF Mitchell Tolman launched two home runs in Game 2 on Wednesday night, the third two-homer game of his career and first since Aug. 23, 2017 with High-A Bradenton at Daytona. He also became the fourth Indian with a two-homer game this season -- all on the road -- joining Jacob Stallings (April 27 at CHA), Cole Tucker (June 20 at BUF) and Pablo Reyes (July 13 at COL). The 25-year-old Tolman hit safely in all four games at Toledo (.500, 6-for-12) with two dingers, one triple, one double, three RBI and six runs scored. He has scored at least one run in five consecutive games, the second time he's done that this season (also: July 1-5 with Altoona). He has only scored a run in six straight contests once in his career (May 11-17, 2017 with Bradenton).

2019 AND 2005: Indy gave up two home runs last night to tie the franchise record for homers allowed in a season (also: 2005). The Tribe are on pace to surrender a franchise record 157 home runs. The Indians offense has piled up 130 home runs at the plate, their highest total in a campaign since belting 157 in 2005.

HE'S MARVEL-OUS: RHP James Marvel makes his ninth career Triple-A start tonight. He is coming off a three-inning, five-run performance from Indy's last home game on August 18 vs. Lehigh Valley; the Tribe offense got him off the hook for his first loss with a five-run ninth that sent the game to extras, where the Indians won in 10 innings, 8-7. In Marvel's last 14 starts between Double- and Triple-A, his team owns a sparkling 13-1 record.

WE'LL LEAVE THE LIGHT ON FOR YA: The Indians fell to 53-4 when leading after seven innings with last night's defeat and just 46-5 in games when leading thru six frames; Indy was 63-7 when leading thru seven innings and 56-9 when leading thru six in 2018.

CEDERLIND DEBUTS: RHP Blake Cederlind was transferred from Double-A Altoona to Indianapolis yesterday and made his Triple-A debut last night (L, 1.2ip, 5h, 3r, 3er, 0bb, 3k). He worked a scoreless seventh, struck out two and hit 101mph on the stadium radar gun before surrendering three runs in the eighth. Cederlind's debut marked a new franchise record for Indy, with the hard-throwing righty being the 36th different player to pitch this season.
