
G-Men Fall 6-4 in PG Sunday Afternoon

Prince George, BC - The Giants opened the scoring but a 5-goal outburst in the first period was too much for Vancouver to overcome as they split a weekend series in Prince George.
1st Period:
VAN: Ty Halaburda opened the scoring as he redirected a Mazden Leslie pass through Tyler Brennan's legs just 1:17 into the game.
VAN: Brenden Pentecost sniped home his first Western Hockey League goal to double the Giants lead just under three minutes later.
PG: Carter MacAdams answered with a goal of his own 0:22 later.
PG: At 10:45 of the first, Riley Heidt buried his first goal of the game to tie it.
PG: Cole Dubinsky brought the Cougars ahead off a scramble in front of Jesper Vikman with 8:51 remaining in the period.
PG: Noah Boyko added to the Cougar lead five minutes later following a goaltending change for Vancouver.
PG: With 0:24 left in the opening frame, Heidt scored his second of the night, this one on the power play.
2nd Period:
PG: Heidt completed the hat trick with 2:59 left in the second. The goal was challenged for offside but was upheld.
3rd Period:
VAN: Samuel Honzek added to his team leading goal total with his 12th of the season on a top-corner shot off a face-off 7:32 into the third.
VAN: Zack Ostapchuk brought Vancouver back within two with 2:13 to go but Tyler Brenna would shut the door the rest of the way.
