Hitmen Defeat Thunderbirds in Overtime

Kent, WA - The Calgary Hitmen opened their first U.S. Division road trip in nearly four years tonight in Kent against the Seattle Thunderbirds at accesso ShoWare Centre.

A stellar performance from goaltender Brayden Peters and a perfect penalty kill propelled Calgary to a big overtime win over Seattle. Sean Tschigerl opened up the scoring in the first period for his fourth of the year, on a breakaway pass from Grayden Siepmann. Calgary was able to hold on to the one goal lead head into the final frame. Brayden Peters held the score to zero making 19 saves through the first 40 minutes. The game was tied by Luke Prokop at 8:07 in the third which would force the game to overtime.

Calgary entered into extra minutes on the penalty kill but were able to turn the momentum, with Oliver Tulk putting the game winner home to give Calgary the win.

Peters earned second star of the game making 32 saves in tonight matchup.

Calgary is back on the ice tomorrow, Sunday, Nov. 13 in Everett against the Silvertips before heading to Portland (Tues. Nov. 15), Tri-City (Fri. Nov. 18) and Spokane (Sat. Nov. 19). The next Hitmen home game is not until Friday, Nov. 25 when they welcome the Prince Albert Raiders to Scotiabank Saddledome for a 7:00 p.m. start.
