
Pats Head to Saskatoon to Close out Weekend

Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats head to Saskatoon today to play the Blades at 4:00 p.m. inside the SaskTel Centre.
The Pats are coming off a 6-2 win over the Red Deer Rebels on Saturday, improving to 9-8-1-1 on the season. Tanner Howe matched his career-high in points with four (2G-2A) while Borya Valis (1G-2A), Alexander Suzdalev (2A), Connor Bedard (1G-1A) and Stanislav Svozil also had multi-point nights and Easton Armstrong and Sam Oremba rounded out the scoring.
Matthew Kieper made 36 saves in the victory as Regina was outshot 38-20 as they snapped a five game skid against the Rebels while also breaking a streak of nine straight games against Red Deer that were decided by two goals or less. The Pats went a perfect 3-3 on the power play and 4-5 on the penalty kill.
Meanwhile, the Saskatoon Blades are coming off a 5-0 win on Saturday after the struggling Edmonton Oil Kings on home ice. Ethan Chadwick helped the Blades improve to 13-4-0-0 with his first career shutout, making 21 saves as Saskatoon outshot the Oil Kings 43-21 for their second straight win. Egor Sidorov tallied a four point game (1G-3A) while Saskatoon also got goals from Jayden Weins, Trevor Wong, Aidan De La Gorgendiere and Vaughn Watterodt. The Blades finished 2-4 on the power play and 3-3 on the penalty kill.
The Blades have won three of their last four games to start November, having outscored their opponents 17-to-7 over that span. Last season, the Blades finished with 80 points, going 38-26-3-1, which was good for fifth in the Eastern Conference standings.
