
Future Phillies invade Trenton starting tonight

The Trenton Thunder and the Reading Phillies will play each other at Waterfront Park for the first times of 2005 this week. Leading the R-Phils is Randy Ruiz, who was named the Eastern League's Player of the Week for the week ending May 1st. The 6'3" 230 lb. native of Bronx, New York had an amazing week, hitting .500 (10-for-20) with three doubles, five home runs, 14 RBI, eight runs scored and a 1.400 slugging percentage in five games for the R-Phils.
Tonight, Thunder ace Jeff Karstens (4-2, 2.48 ERA) will square off against Reading's Allen Davis (3-2, 2.84 ERA). The first 1,000 fans age 16 and over will get a Thunder T Shirt compliments of the YES Network.
On Wednesday night, Matt DeSalvo (2-1, 4.31 ERA) will take the mound for the Thunder against Mike Smith (1-3, 3.68 ERA) of Reading. The first 2,000 fans age 6 and over will receive a Bobblehead Doll of Former R-Phil and current Philadelphia Phillie Star Pat Burrell. Quanities are limited so please arrive early.
Reading and Trenton will conclude the series on Thursday night as the Thunder present post game fireworks courtesy of Radiology Affiliate Imaging. Danny Borrell (1-0, 5.40 ERA) will face Reading's Seung Hak Lee (2-0, 2.74 ERA). This is also Deaf and Hard of Hearing Awareness Night.
