The Erie SeaWolves (23-34) triumphed 6-1 over the Hartford Yard Goats (28-31) to catapult them to their third straight win Wednesday.
For the second straight night, the SeaWolves scored first on the Hartford Yard Goats in the second inning. Jake Rogers served a ball to left field on a sacrifice that invited A.J. Simcox to come home. The SeaWolves led 1-0 going into the third inning.
Nelson Molina quickly tied the game at 1-1 on his first home run of the year off of Kyle Funkhouser in the top of the third.
Erie wasted no time snatching the lead back off of starter Evan Grills. Dominic Ficociellobanged his fifth home run of the year on a three-run bomb in the third, giving him his 32nd RBI of the season.
The SeaWolves added another in the fifth inning to make it 5-1. After Ficociello doubled, Josh Lester leaked an RBI single into right field for his 24th RBI of the season.
Erie finished their scoring in the sixth off of a Troy Montgomery sac fly to center to propel them to a five run lead at 6-1.
