Indy Fuel News Release

INDIANAPOLIS - The Indy Fuel earned one precious point in the Western Conference Central Division standings in pushing the two-time reigning Kelly Cup Champions Allen Americans to the extra session before falling in OT, 7-6.

The Fuel were resilient throughout the contest, surmounting three 1-goal deficits before actually seizing a pair of one-goal leads in the third period. Mark Tvrdon's second goal of the night at 5:11 of the final stanza lifted the Indy club into a 5-4 lead after the Fuel had equalized matters earlier on first period goals from Patrick D'Amico and Tyler Currier with the latter's struck at the 19:59 mark of the period.

Falling behind 4-2 midway through the middle frame, the Fuel, again, rallied as Tvrdon connected on his second PPG in as many nights before Kevin Lynch knotted it, again, late in the period; this time at the 18:54 mark.

It appeared that Indy's persistence and perseverance would pay some handsome dividends when Brady Ramsay uncorked his first Fuel goal, dramatically, with only 2:18 remaining in regulation time. However, the champions had other designs as coming out of a time out after lifting goaltender Jamie Murray for the 6th attacker, Eric Roy drilled a screen shot from right point to tie it again at 6-6.

Seizing the momentum at that late juncture, the Americans proceeded to capture the conquest when two-time reigning scoring champ Chad Costello capped a three-point performance with the GWG, completing a 2-on-1 jailbreak. Costello's thrust came at the :38 mark, representing the sole shot on goal in the extra time.

Indy outshot Allen, 43-40 as the Fuel winless stretch reached 4(0-3-1) while Allen extracted their first victory on the road thus far this season in game #3 of a 4-game road trip.

The Fuel 6(2-3-1)5-points are idle until next Friday night when they travel to Fort Wayne to rekindle animosities with their principal archrivals the Komets before returning home next Saturday night, November 5th when they host Quad City in a 7:35 face-off from Indiana Farmers Coliseum.
