Quad City Mallards News Release

MOLINE, Ill. - Sam Warning scored two goals- including the game winner- as the host Quad City Mallards (4-2-0) edged the Tulsa Oilers (6-1-0) 3-2 Saturday night to extend the Mallards' winning streak to four games and halt the Oilers' season-opening winning streak at six games.

Warning swooped into the Tulsa goalmouth to give the Mallards' their third lead of the night at 8:29 of the third period- just 61 seconds after Phil Brewer's tip-in evened the score at two for the Oilers.

The Mallards first moved in front in the third just under two minutes into the period when Chris Francis pounced on a loose puck in front of the Tulsa net.

Warning had also opened the scoring by converting a centering feed from Justin Kovacs- who assisted on both of Warning's goals- on a 2-on-1 rush at 6:32 of the first period.

Tulsa's Christophe Lalancette tied the score at one with a breakaway goal at 10:18 of the second period, but the Mallards would outlast the Oilers in the third.

The Mallards return to action on the road Thursday night against the Cincinnati Cyclones. The Mallards next play at home Sunday, November 6 at 4:05 p.m. against Cincinnati. Fans can bring their skates and join the Mallards on the ice for a postgame skate after that game.
