Adirondack Frostbite News Release
LAST WEEK: Adirondack went 2-0-1 last week, picking up a pair of wins over Danbury, and dropping a shootout to Missouri. The Frostbite are 23-12-3 for 49 points at the halfway point of their season and are in second place of the Eastern Division, eight points behind Danbury with four games in hand.
Friday, January 20 vs. Missouri River Otters 4 FROSTBITE 3 (SO) The Frostbite returned to the ice for the first time in 12 days, and dropped a shootout decision to Missouri. The River Otters jumped out to a 3-0 lead, scoring three times in a span of 5:34 late in the first period. Chris Mei put the Frostbite on the board, scoring his first professional goal eight minutes into the second period. Adirondack pulled within one on a Kevin Watters' power-play goal at 16:31. Watters added his second power-play goal of the night 3:29 into the final period to knot the score. In the shootout, Missouri's Blake Stewart scored in the first round, and that proved to be enough as neither team tallied the rest of the way.
Saturday, January 21 vs. Danbury FROSTBITE 4 Trashers 3 Adirondack ended its five-game winless streak, and beat Danbury for the first time in seven tries this season with an exciting come-from-behind victory. The Trashers had three separate one-goal leads, but the Frostbite were able to tie it each time, with Kevin Watters scoring twice, and Mike Berry tying the game at three at 11:53 of the third period. Just over three minutes later, Scott Drevitch picked up the go-ahead goal, and the Frostbite were able to hold on after the Trashers pulled their goaltender in the final two minutes.
Sunday, January 22 @ Danbury FROSTBITE 4 Trashers 3 (SO) The Frostbite picked up their second straight win over the Trashers, once again coming from behind, to pick up a 4-3 shootout win. For the second consecutive night, Danbury took three separate one-goal leads, but the Frostbite tied the game, tallying the tying goal within two minutes of each Trasher score. The shootout took seven rounds, and it was Scott Drevitch tallying the deciding score for the Frostbite.
THIS WEEK'S GAMES Friday, January 27 @ Missouri 8:00 p.m. The Frostbite and River Otters meet for the second and final time this season. Missouri is 11-26-3 on the season for 25 points, and is in fourth place of the Western Division.
Saturday, January 28 @ Quad City 8:00 p.m. Adirondack takes on Quad City for the second and final time this season. The Frostbite won the first meeting, 3-2 in a shootout, at the Glens Falls Civic Center on November 2. The Mallards are in second place of the Western Division with a record of 20-15-5 for 45 points.
FROSTBITE NOTES
- Adirondack has scored at least one power-play goal in 10 of its last 12 games. - The Frostbite had 33 or more shots in each of their three games last weekend, an average of 36.67 shots per game.
- Kevin Watters scored five goals last week, all of them coming on the power play. Watters has 12 power-play goals this season, which leads the team is tied for third overall in the league.
- Watters leads all rookies, and is tied for second in the league, with 26 goals this season.

FROSTBITE ON THE AIR All 76 Frostbite regular season games can be heard on WCKM 98.5 FM and on-line at www.frostbitehockey.com with the Voice of the Frostbite, Joe Babik. Each broadcast begins 20 minutes prior to face-off with the Frostbite Pre-Game Show. In addition, all Frostbite games are available to watch on a pay-per-view basis in conjunction with B2 Networks. The B2 Networks feed can be accessed through the Frostbite website at www.frostbitehockey.com. Every Monday during the season, WCKM airs the "In the Box" Show from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The show is hosted by WCKM morning personality, and Frostbite PA announcer, Dan Miner. Dan is joined on the show each week by Frostbite Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Dane Jackson, Frostbite Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations Joe Babik, and a different Frostbite player. This week's show, which airs from the WCKM studios, will feature phone interviews with former Frostbite General Manager Damon Markiewicz and former Frostbite radio broadcaster Kevin Boryczki.
