Adirondack Frostbite News Release


LAST WEEK: Adirondack went 0-2-1 last week dropping regulation decisions at Elmira and at home against Muskegon, and falling in a shootout at home to Elmira. The Frostbite are 21-12-2 for 44 points, and are in second place of the Eastern Division, four points behind first-place Danbury.

Friday, January 6 vs. Elmira Jackals 2 FROSTBITE 1 (SO) Jason Sessa started the scoring, putting Elmira on the scoreboard 5:39 into the second period. The Frostbite pulled even on a Kevin Watters power-play goal at the 6:34 mark of the third period. In the shootout, Elmira scored three times on four shots, while Adirondack managed one goal on its four shots.

Saturday, January 7 @ Elmira Jackals 2 FROSTBITE 1 After nearly two scoreless periods, Sylvain Cloutier tallied a power-play goal 16:33 into the second period to give the Frostbite a 1-0 lead after 40 minutes. The Jackals tied the game at 10:30 of the third period on a Kevin Cooper redirection, and then picked up the game-winner 1:58 later off of the stick of Eddy Lowe.

Sunday, January 8 vs. Muskegon Fury 3 FROSTBITE 1 Josh Mizerek opened the scoring, stuffing a loose puck past Fury goaltender Clayton Pool 9:40 into the first period. Muskegon tied the game early in the second period on a Robin Bouchard power-play goal, and went ahead for good early in the third on a Billy Collins slap shot from the right-wing circle. Bouchard set the final with his second power-play tally of the night midway through the period.

THIS WEEK'S GAMES Friday, January 13 @ Kalamazoo 7:30 p.m. The Frostbite and K-Wings meet for the third and final time this season. Adirondack is 0-2-0 against Kalamazoo this season, and has been outscored 8-2 in the two meetings. Kalamazoo is 25-8-2 for 52 points and in second place of the Central Division.

Saturday, January 14 @ Muskegon 7:40 p.m. Adirondack takes on Muskegon for the second and final time this season. The Fury own the league's best record at 26-5-2 for 54 points, and have a two-point over Kalamazoo.

- Adirondack scored one goal in each of its three games last week. - Josh Mizerek scored his first goal of the season in Sunday's loss to Muskegon. - The Frostbite's streak of six consecutive games with at least one power-play goal ended on Sunday. - With Kevin Watters' recall to Binghamton on Sunday, the Frostbite have had four players called-up to the AHL this season (Watters and Mike Berry - Binghamton, Lyon Porter - Syracuse, and Ryan Bennett - Portland)

FROSTBITE TICKETS Tickets for Frostbite home games are available at the Glens Falls Civic Center Box Office (10:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, and two hours prior to game time on Sunday), or by calling the Box Office at (518) 798-0202. FROSTBITE ON THE AIR All 76 Frostbite regular season games can be heard on WCKM 98.5 FM and on-line at www.frostbitehockey.com with the Voice of the Frostbite, Joe Babik. Each broadcast begins 20 minutes prior to face-off with the Frostbite Pre-Game Show. In addition, all Frostbite games are available to watch on a pay-per-view basis in conjunction with B2 Networks. The B2 Networks feed can be accessed through the Frostbite website at www.frostbitehockey.com. Every Monday during the season, WCKM airs the "In the Box" Show from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Davidson's. The show is hosted by WCKM morning personality, and Frostbite PA announcer, Dan Miner. Dan is joined on the show each week by Frostbite Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Marc Potvin, Frostbite Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations Joe Babik, and a different Frostbite player. This week's guest is defenseman Scott Drevitch.
