McIntosh Earns UHL Goalie Of The Week Award

Elmira, NY - The Elmira Jackals announced today that the United Hockey League has named Ryan McIntosh as the Southern Sports Supply Goaltender of the Week.
McIntosh had a stellar week as he helped the Jackals increase their winning streak to four straight games. In three starts, the Calgary, Alberta native was 3-0-0 with a 1.33 goals against average and a 0.955 save percentage. Friday in Glens Falls, McIntosh stopped 27-of-28 in regulation and 3-of-4 in the shootout earning a determined 2-1 shootout win over Adirondack. Saturday night at the First Arena McIntosh had a superb outing and again beat the Frostbite 2-1, this time in regulation as he made 26 saves. Sunday he capped off the perfect week with a 4-2 win over Richmond, making 32 saves on 34 shots to earn his 7th win of the season, the Jackals 4th in a row.
"Ryan unquestionably deserves this award," said Jackals Head Coach & Director of Hockey Operations Perry Florio. "From day one here in Elmira he has put forth an incredible attitude and work ethic for our club. His coaches and teammates are extremely happy that the league has recognized his accomplishments."
After an outstanding weekend, McIntosh has improved his season record to 7-8-1 with a 3.21 GAA and a 0.901 save percentage. He also passed the 1,000 minutes played mark for the year during Sunday's win over the Riverdogs.
The Jackals will have the week the recover and hone their skills in practice before returning to the ice for three next weekend at home. Friday night the Jackals face off with the Port Huron Flags at 7:05 pm at the First Arena. Saturday and Sunday the Jackals welcome the Flint Generals for two games in Elmira.
