Adirondack Frostbite News Release


LAST WEEK: Adirondack went 2-1-0 last week, winning a pair of games against Richmond and losing at Danbury. The Frostbite are 11-3-0 on the season for 22 points, and are in first place of the Eastern Division, 10 points ahead of Danbury.

Wednesday, November 16 v. Richmond FROSTBITE 7 RiverDogs 2

The Frostbite spotted the RiverDogs a 2-0 lead in the first 7:16 of the first period before scoring seven unanswered goals. Blue Bennefield and Lyon Porter both scored a pair of goals in the win, while Sylvain Cloutier, Derek Gustafson, and David Moccia also had multiple-point nights. Gustafson turned aside 24 Richmond shots to pick up the win in net.

Friday, November 18 v. Richmond FROSTBITE 4 RiverDogs 1

Richmond got on the board early again as John DiPace scored a power-play goal midway through the first period. The Frostbite tied the game just 1:57 into the second period as Mark Hurtubise tipped home a shot on the power play. Lyon Porter put Adirondack ahead to stay at 8:12 with his ninth goal of the season. Bob Rapoza and Sylvain Cloutier added power-play tallies in the final period to set the final. The Frostbite out-shot the RiverDogs 44-22 for the game, and 33-11 in the final two periods.

Saturday, November 19 @ Danbury Trashers 5 FROSTBITE 4

Adirondack's five-game winning streak came to an end, as the Frostbite fell to the Trashers for the second time this season. Trailing 3-1 early in the second period, the Frostbite tied the game as Kevin Watters and Mark Hurtubise tallied just 48 seconds apart. Danbury went back up by two on goals by Jamie Thompson and Drew Omicioli midway through the second period. The Frostbite pulled back within one at 16:34 of the second on Watters' second goal of the night, but that was as close as they would get, despite out-shooting the Trashers 13-4 in the third period.

Wednesday, November 23 v. Port Huron 7:05 p.m.

Friday, November 25 v. Port Huron 7:35 p.m.

The Frostbite and Flags meet for the final two times this season. Port Huron won the first meeting, 5-3, at McMorran Arena on October 28. The Flags are 6-6-1 for 13 points, and are in fourth place of the Central Division.

PROMOTIONS:

Wednesday is another Wacky Wednesday at the Glens Falls Civic Center, as 14-ounce drafts of Bud, Bud Light, and Coors Light are just $2. Fans will also have the chance to win one of several turkeys being given away, courtesy of the Glen Street Price Chopper.

Saturday, November 26 @ Danbury 7:30 p.m.

For the second Saturday in a row, Adirondack heads to Danbury to take on the Trashers. The Frostbite are 0-2-0 against the Trashers this season. Danbury is 5-5-2 for 12 points and is in second place of the Eastern Division, 10 points behind the Frostbite.

Sunday, November 27 v. Elmira 5:15 p.m.

The Frostbite wrap up their busiest week of the season thus far with a late-Sunday afternoon face-off against the Jackals. Adirondack won the first meeting between the teams this season 5-2 at the Glens Falls Civic Center on November 4. Elmira is 4-10-1 for 9 points and is in fifth place of the Eastern Division.

FROSTBITE NOTES

The Frostbite have allowed the first goal in each of their last four games.

Mark Hurtubise has at least one point in each of his six games with the Frostbite. Kevin Watters leads all rookies, and is tied for the overall league lead, with 12 goals. The Frostbite are third in the league, averaging 4.36 goals per game, and are second, allowing 2.64 goals per game.

Adirondack is second in the UHL in both shots per game (35.64) and shots against per game (28.57).

The Frostbite have out-shot their opposition in 11 of their first 14 games.

FROSTBITE ON THE AIR

All 76 Frostbite regular season games can be heard on WCKM 98.5 FM and on-line at www.frostbitehockey.com with the Voice of the Frostbite, Joe Babik. Each broadcast begins 20 minutes prior to face-off with the Frostbite Pre-Game Show. In addition, all Frostbite games are available to watch on a pay-per-view basis in conjunction with B2 Networks. The B2 Networks feed can be accessed through the Frostbite website at www.frostbitehockey.com. Every Monday during the season, WCKM airs the "In the Box" Show from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Davidson's. The show is hosted by WCKM morning personality, and Frostbite PA announcer, Dan Miner. Dan is joined on the show each week by Frostbite Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Marc Potvin, Frostbite Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations Joe Babik, and a different Frostbite player. This week's guests are center Mike Berry and defenseman Pete Ollari.
