Adirondack Frostbite News Release
LAST WEEK: Adirondack went 3-0-0 last week, sweeping games against Danbury, Elmira and Richmond, and gaining five points on first-place Danbury. The Frostbite are 30-13-3 for 63 points and are in second place of the Eastern Division, four points behind the Trashers with five games in hand.
Friday, February 10 @ Danbury FROSTBITE 5 Trashers 2 The Frostbite defeated the Trashers for the fourth time in the last five meetings. Goals by Sylvain Cloutier and Dmitri Suur provided Adirondack with a 2-0 lead after one period. After a scoreless second period, Ryan Bennett made it 3-0 with his fourth of the season 2:12 into the final period. Carlyle Lewis cut the Frostbite lead to two at 6:30, but Blue Bennefield answered just 1:25 later to make it 4-1. The Trashers again pulled within two at 12:50, but Bennett sealed the win, scoring his second of the night at 16:58 to set the final. Kris Tebbs was fantastic in net, turning aside a season-high 46 shots to pick up the win.
Saturday, February 11 @ Elmira FROSTBITE 7 Jackals 6 (SO) After falling behind 2-0 just seven minutes into the game, the Frostbite went on to score six of the next seven goals, taking a 6-3 lead into the third period. The Jackals scored three times in the first 9:11 of the final period to tie the game, and send it to a shootout. In the extra session, Mike Berry, Hugo Belanger and Greg Koehler all scored for the Frostbite, while Kris Tebbs turned aside all three Elmira shots to seal the victory.
Sunday, February 12 vs. Richmond FROSTBITE 3 RiverDogs 2 (SO) Adirondack completed its weekend sweep with a shootout victory against Richmond. The RiverDogs' Joey Bastien scored the only goal of the opening period at 19:16. The Frostbite tied the game midway through the second on Ryan Prentice's first goal of the season. Richmond went back on top 7:44 into the third period on a Mike Oliveira power-play goal, but the Frostbite tied the game at 12:35 on a Ryan Bennett power-play tally. In the shootout, neither team scored through the first five rounds. In round six, Derek Gustafson stopped Richmond's Jason Cassells, setting the stage for Mark Hurtubise who beat Doug Groenestege to give the Frostbite the win. Adirondack is now 9-0-0 against Richmond this season.
THIS WEEK'S GAMES Tuesday, February 14 vs. Danbury 7:05 p.m. The Frostbite and Trashers meet for the 11th of 16 times this season. Adirondack is 4-6-1 overall against Danbury this season, and 2-2-1 at home. The Trashers are four points ahead of the Frostbite in the Eastern Division standings.
PROMOTIONS: Join the Frostbite for their first-ever "Wedding on Ice." During the first intermission, Nicole Tournoux and Paul Harrington will be married at center ice.
Saturday, February 18 @ Elmira 7:05 p.m. Adirondack takes on Elmira for the eighth of 15 times this season. The Frostbite are 5-1-1 against the Jackals this season. Elmira is in fourth place of the Eastern Division with a record of 17-25-6 for 40 points.
Sunday, February 19 @ Roanoke 5:00 p.m. The Frostbite head to Roanoke for their sixth of 12 meetings against the Vipers. Adirondack is 5-0-0 against Roanoke this season, and 2-0-0 at Roanoke. The Vipers are 13-27-5 for 31 points and are in fifth place of the Eastern Division.
FROSTBITE NOTES
- Ryan Bennett has at least one goal in each of the last four games (6 goals), and is riding a six-game scoring streak, over which he has scored six goals and added four assists.
- The Frostbite have had at least 36 shots on goal in each of the last four games, averaging 40.25 shots per game over that span.
- Adirondack is 15-3-3 in one-goal games this season, and has won each of its last six games decided by one goal. - The Frostbite are 9-3 in shootouts this season, and goaltenders Derek Gustafson and Kris Tebbs have combined to give the team the league's best shootout percentage against, allowing just 15 goals on 59 shootout attempts (.254).

FROSTBITE FANTASY PUCK DROP CONTEST If you've ever wanted to drop the ceremonial first puck on the ice prior to a Frostbite home game, you now have your chance. The Frostbite are giving fans the opportunity to drop the puck prior to the Friday, March 10 game against the Rockford IceHogs. Any fan who purchases a souvenir puck during the month of February will automatically enter the drawing. Pucks can be purchased during Frostbite home games, or at the Frostbite office during normal business hours (9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday). You will receive one entry for each puck purchased. A variety of pucks will be available for purchase, including specialty pucks from earlier in the season.
FROSTBITE TICKETS Tickets for Frostbite home games are available at the Glens Falls Civic Center Box Office (10:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, and two hours prior to game time on Sunday), or by calling the Box Office at (518) 798-0202. Tickets can also be purchased on-line at www.ticketmaster.com. Discounted group tickets for groups of 15 or more are available by calling the Frostbite office at (518) 926-7825.
FROSTBITE ON THE AIR All 76 Frostbite regular season games can be heard on WCKM 98.5 FM and on-line at www.frostbitehockey.com with the Voice of the Frostbite, Joe Babik. Each broadcast begins 20 minutes prior to face-off with the Frostbite Pre-Game Show. In addition, all Frostbite games are available to watch on a pay-per-view basis in conjunction with B2 Networks. The B2 Networks feed can be accessed through the Frostbite website at www.frostbitehockey.com. Every Monday during the season, WCKM airs the "In the Box" Show from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The show is hosted by WCKM morning personality, and Frostbite PA announcer, Dan Miner. Dan is joined on the show each week by Frostbite Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Dane Jackson, Frostbite Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations Joe Babik, and a different Frostbite player.
