Mallards Split Weekend Pair

Moline, IL-The Mallards split a weekend pair as the team lost 7-0 in Rockford on Friday before returning to The MARK to beat Roanoke Valley 7-0. The pair of 7-0 decisions represented the Mallards most lopsided loss and win of the 2005-06 season.

This week, the team hosts Port Huron on Valentine's Day before heading to Fort Wayne for a Friday night contest with the Komets. The Mallards return home on Saturday night for their first meeting with the Missouri River Otters since January 14th. On Sunday, the Mallards host Kalamazoo. The Valentine's Day game vs. Port Huron begins a stretch in which the Mallards play eight times in 13 days.

Tuesday, February 14th vs. the Port Huron Flags 7:00 p.m. Singles Night featuring a Puck Giveaway from Sure Thing Speed Dates for the First 1,000 Ladies in Attendance, a Diamond Giveaway from Diamond Gallery and a T-Shirt Giveaway Courtesy of Genesis

The Mallards are celebrating Valentine's Day by hosting Singles Night. Sure Thing Speed Dates is giving away pucks to the first 1,000 ladies in attendance. The first 750 ladies will receive a ½ karat "diamond" from Diamond Gallery. One lucky lady will receive a real diamond while the other 749 will receive a cubic zirconium copy. Fans will be able to have their diamonds checked at the Diamond Gallery at 2222 East 53 Street in Davenport. Genesis will be giving away T-Shirts as well.

The Mallards welcome the Missouri River Otters to The MARK for the first time this month and it's Orthopaedic Specialists Water Bottle Giveaway Night. Lucky fans will also have the opportunity to win a Hummer Sports Utility Vehicle from D&D Chevrolet Hummer.

Sunday, February 19th vs. the Kalamazoo Wings 1:00 p.m. Scout Day / Trading Card Giveaway / Post-Game Party at T.G.I.Friday's

The Mallards welcome Scout groups from throughout the Quad City area to their Sunday afternoon game vs. Kalamazoo. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive trading cards courtesy of T.G.I. Friday's. Players will be available to autograph their cards after the game during the Mallards Post-Game Party at T.G.I. Friday's.

Season Ticket Holder Buddy Nights

Mallards "Buddy Nights" return on February 24th vs. Kalamazoo. On these special nights, season ticket holders will receive a voucher for one free upper bowl ticket for every ticket they hold. These seats can be upgraded to lower bowl tickets for just $5. For those that haven't picked up their vouchers, they are still available at the Maroon Mortgage Information Table during home games or at The Mallards Nest.

Tuesday, February 14th vs. the Port Huron Flags 7:00 p.m. at The MARK

The Flags return to The MARK for the first time since their 3-2 win over the Mallards on January 29th. It also marks the return of former Mallards Noah Whyte and Jason Jaworski for their first game in the Quad Cities since being traded to the Flags in late January.

Friday, February 17th vs. the Fort Wayne Komets 7:00 p.m. central time at The Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana

The Mallards play a critical Western Division game vs. the Komets on Friday night in Fort Wayne. The Komets passed the Mallards last week for second place in the West. Entering this week, the Mallards are five points back of Fort Wayne.

Saturday, February 18th vs. the Missouri River Otters 7:00 p.m. at The MARK

The Mallards continue their rivalry with the Otters this Saturday at The MARK. The Otters will enter The MARK with a new coach (Jeff Brown) after Kevin Kaminski was dismissed in late January.

Sunday, February 19th vs. the Kalamazoo Wings 1:00 p.m. at The MARK

The Mallards host the Wings for the first time this year on Sunday afternoon at The MARK. The teams split two meetings in Kalamazoo earlier this year. The Wings will return to The MARK on February 24th for the teams' second game in six days.

The Maroon Mortgage Pre-Game Show is on the air 25 minutes prior to face-off on Fox Sports Radio AM 1230. During the intermissions, stay tuned for the Swiss Valley Farms Intermission Report. After the game, the All-State Insurance Christy Cox Post-Game Show will air.

Friday, February 10th-Quad City 0 at Rockford 7

Rockford captain Jason Ralph lead the Hogs to a 7-0 victory over the Mallards on Friday night at The Metrocentre. Ralph recorded a hat trick as the Hogs earned their sixth win in nine games vs. the Mallards this year. Michel Robinson also earned his first shutout of the year in the win. The Hogs opened with a strong first period as Ralph collected a pair of goals (shorthanded at 4:06 and on the power play at 8:59) to give the Hogs a 2-0 lead. Preston Mizzi capped the first period scoring with his team-leading 20th tally of the season to give the Hogs a 3-0 edge after one. Ralph completed his hat trick with a power-play tally just 21 seconds into the second period. Mizzi added his second of the game at 7:14 of the middle period. The Hogs headed to the second intermission with a 5-0 edge. In the third, Jason Notermann and Chaz Johnson scored to set the final at 7-0. Michel Robinson made 30 saves in the game including 10 in the closing period.

Saturday, February 11th-Roanoke Valley 0 at Quad City 7

The Mallards romped over the visiting Roanoke Valley Vipers by a final of 7-0 on Saturday night at The MARK. Jason Tapp made 25 saves to earn his third shutout of the year while seven different Mallards recorded goals. The Mallards opened with one of their best periods of the season as the team poured home five first period goals. J.J. Wrobel scored just 1:12 into the game to make it 1-0. Tom Galvin knocked home a power-play tally at 4:12 of the period to give the Mallards a 2-0 edge. Rafal Martynowski added his 13th of the season just 20 seconds later to stake Quad City to a 3-0 lead. Patrick Nadeau and Jesse Rycroft each added markers before the period expired to give the Mallards a 5-0 lead. In the second, Matt Radoslovich added his 14th of the year to put the Mallards up 6-0. Jami Yoder's third period tally set the final at 7-0.

Player of the Week

Jami Yoder is the Mallards nominee for UHL Player of the Week. He recorded a goal and two assists in the Mallards 7-0 win over Roanoke Valley.

Goalie of the Week

Jason Tapp is the Mallards nominee for UHL Goaltender of the Week. He stopped 11 shots in Rockford on Saturday before shutting out Roanoke Valley on Saturday with a 25-save performance.
