
Goodwin, Robinson Earn Weekly Honors

LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO--- The United Hockey League (UHL) announced Monday that Fort Wayne Komets right wing Jonathan Goodwin has been named Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Week and Rockford IceHogs goaltender Michel Robinson has been named Southern Sports Supply UHL Goaltender of the Week for the period ending Sunday, February 12, 2006.
Goodwin completed the week with nine points (6g, 3a) and a plus-1 rating in four games played. On Wednesday, he netted a "hat trick" (3g), including the game-winner, and added an assist in the 4-1 victory vs. Port Huron. He scored two goals, including the game-winner, in Friday's 5-4 win vs. Kalamazoo. He dished out an assist in Saturday's 5-4 shootout loss to Port Huron. Goodwin then ended the week with one goal and one assist in the 7-3 victory vs. Motor City on Sunday. The 23-year-old native of Weymouth, Massachusetts currently has 45 points (21g, 24a) and a plus-14 rating in 46 games played this season. His 193 shots on goal rank fourth overall in the UHL.
Other players nominated for the Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Week include: Adirondack Frostbite right wing Ryan Bennett, Danbury forward Ryan Barnes, Elmira right wing Jason Sessa, Kalamazoo center Jason Deitsch, Missouri left wing Mark Odut, Motor City center Brent Gretzky, Muskegon left wing David Wrigley, Quad City defenseman Jami Yoder, Richmond forward Joey Bastien, Roanoke left wing David Beauregard, and Rockford center Yannick Tifu.
Robinson finished the week with a 2-0-0 record, a 1.00 goals against average (GAA), a .963 save percentage (SPCT), and one shutout. He stopped all 30 Quad City shots in Friday's 7-0 victory to earn his first shutout of the season. On Sunday, he made 22 saves in the 4-2 win vs. Missouri and extended his unbeaten streak in regulation to 13 games (11-0-2). The 23-year-old native of Montreal, Quebec leads all UHL goaltenders with a .928 SPCT and ranks second with a 2.23 GAA. He currently has a 16-5-2 record this season.
