Fritsch Signs PTO with Sound Tigers

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (Nov. 17, 2011) =2D The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced Thursday that they have signed defenseman Jamie Fritsch to a professional tryout contract (PTO).

Fritsch, 26, began his season with the Las Vegas Wranglers of the East Coast Hockey League where he recorded two assists in 14 games. In addition to 136 career ECHL games, the 6'2", 195-pound blue-liner has 15 games of AHL experience with Houston and Norfolk as well as one NHL game with the Philadelphia Flyers.

Prior to making his professional debut in 2009, the Odenton, MD native attended the University of New Hampshire where he recorded 11 goals and 28 assists in 146 games over a four-year collegiate career.

The Sound Tigers travel to Hartford this Friday to take on the Whale before returning home Saturday to face the Springfield Falcons at 7:00 p.m. and host the Adirondack Phantoms on Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. The Sound Tigers will host Pucks N' Paws day on Sunday, and participants can bring their leashed dog to their seat for an exciting afternoon of hockey. Raffles, giveaways and a pet adoption booth will be on the concourse.
