Griffins Ready For Busy Thanksgiving Week

Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011 vs. Hamilton Bulldogs

Time: 7 p.m. at Van Andel Arena (doors open at 6 p.m.).

Winning Wednesday presented by Amway: If the Griffins beat the Bulldogs, each fan in attendance will receive a free ticket to the next Wednesday game, Dec. 14 versus Rockford. Additionally, the first 200 fans to visit the Amway table in Section A will receive a t-shirt. If the Griffins win, the box office will be open following the game for redemptions.

Redemption Wednesday: All fans in attendance for the Griffins' 3-0 win over Lake Erie on Nov. 2 who did not redeem their ticket stub for a free ticket to the Nov. 9 game versus Rockford can instead redeem it for a free ticket to this game at The Zone during business hours (M-F 10-6; Sat. 10-12) and at the box office before the game.

Library Night: Fans who present their Grand Rapids Public Library card or Kent District Library card at the Van Andel Arena box office on the day of the game or at The Zone anytime during the store's regular business hours can save $7 off the price of a Lower Level Faceoff ticket (regularly $18 in advance and $20 day of game). Limit four tickets per card per person, subject to availability.

Dinner with a Griffin: The Griffins are offering fans the opportunity to "Win Dinner with a Griffin," to benefit the family of fallen Walker Police Officer Trevor Slot. Fans can secure their chance at one of two all-expenses-paid dinners with either defensemen Greg Amadio and Doug Janik or forwards Mitch Callahan and Tomas Tatar by purchasing a $10 raffle ticket at the Griffins Booster Club table during any game in November.

Friday, Nov. 25, 2011 vs. Oklahoma City Barons

Time: 7 p.m. at Van Andel Arena (doors open at 6 p.m.).

]Teddy Bear Toss: Fans are asked to bring a new store-tagged teddy bear or stuffed animal to throw on the ice when the Griffins score their first goal. All stuffed animals collected will be donated to Hug-A-Bears of Kent County.

Dollar Beers and Hot Dogs: Enjoy $1 hot dogs and $1 domestic drafts from 6-8 p.m., while supplies last.

Free Ride Friday: Ride the Rapid to and from any Friday game and enjoy complimentary fare by showing your ticket to that night's game. Visit ridetherapid.org for schedule information, routes and maps.

College Night: College students can show their ID to purchase a lower bowl ticket for $13 (or $11 in advance at The Zone) and stop by the McFadden's concourse table to receive a free pass to the post-game party at McFadden's.

Mascot Mania: Various local mascots will roam the concourse and interact with fans throughout the game while celebrating Griff's 16th birthday.

"Be Your Own Bobblehead" T-Shirt Giveaway: The first 1,500 kids 12 and under will receive a "Be Your Own Bobblehead" t-shirt.

Cotton Candy for Kids: The first 200 kids 12 and under that visit the arena's new Ice Cream concession stand behind section 110 will receive a free bag of cotton candy.

Griffins Give Back: Hundreds of local unemployed workers plus their family members are receiving free tickets to this game. Over 1,000 tickets will be distributed through two Grand Rapids offices of Michigan Works! While supplies last, those who visit Michigan Works! in person and present both proof of unemployment and a valid Michigan photo I.D. can receive up to four free tickets.

Sunday is Fun Day!: Enjoy $1 Cole's Breadsticks and $1 Pepsi drinks from 4-6 p.m. Enjoy live music from Jaded 8 and the J&H Family Stores Post-Game Open Skate.

Senior Sunday: Fans 55 and older with ID can purchase a Lower Level Center Ice ticket for $15 and play bingo in the arena banquet room from 4-5 p.m.

Advance ticket prices are $14, $16 and $18 in the arena's upper level, and $18, $22, $26 and $32 in the lower level. (Additional $2 per ticket on day of game.) For Sunday-Thursday games, a limited number of advance-purchase, upper level tickets will go on sale for just $8 one week prior to each contest.
