Heat wives & girlfriends showing love for Lokomotiv

Abbotsford, BC - On Sept 7, 2011, a plane carrying crew members, hockey personnel, coaches and players of the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl hockey team went down, breaking the hearts of their loved ones both near and far.

In a united effort to support the grieving families, hockey wives and girlfriends from around the world have been selling bracelets to raise money for the families affected by this tragedy. Banding together to show their support from the City of Abbotsford, the wives and girlfriends of the Abbotsford Heat players pitched in by selling Heat branded Love for Lokomotiv bracelets.

The Heat is pleased to announce that to date, $2210 has been contributed to these families because of their efforts, and sales continue to grow this total. You can pick up your Love for Lokomotiv bracelet at the Heat Authentic Team Store while quantities last.

The Heat are in Oklahoma City where they'll play a pair against the Barons on Friday and Saturday. The pre-game shows start at 4:45 PM Pacific both nights with games starting 15 minutes later. On Friday, you can catch the pre-game show on theAHL.com's 'GAMECENTER', while Country 107.1 will join the broadcast in progress at 5:00 PM, just in time for puck drop between West Division contenders. Country 107.1 will have Saturday's contest in its entirety.
