LAST WEEK: Fresno split its first four games in the National Conference Quarterfinal Series against Bakersfield. The series is even at two games a piece with game five tonight at Save Mart Center.
GAME 1 - Tuesday, April 10 @ Bakersfield FALCONS 7 Condors 3
Fresno got off to a quick start in game one, getting goals from John Wroblewski and Rob McFeeters in the opening 3:26. Bakersfield pulled within one in the second period, but Lucas Lawson restored the Falcons' two-goal lead 1:37 into the third period. The Condors' Josh Liebenow tallied two goals less than minutes apart early in the third to pull Bakersfield even, but Dustin VanBallegooie answered just 21 seconds after Liebenow's second tally to put Fresno ahead for good. The Falcons added three more goals in the final 11 minutes of play to set the final.
GAME 2 - Thursday, April 12 vs. Bakersfield FALCONS 9 Condors 3
The Falcons scored a season-high nine goals, and set an ECHL single-game record with eight power-play goals, on their way to a 9-3 win in game two of the series. Luke Curtin, John Morlang, and John Wroblewski paced the Fresno offense with four points each, and Ryan MacDonald turned aside 41 Condor shots to record the win in net.
GAME 3 - Friday, April 13 @ Bakersfield Condors 4 FALCONS 2
Bakersfield got back into the series with a 4-2 win at Rabobank Arena. The Condors scored a pair of goals in the opening 10 minutes of the contest, but the Falcons pulled within one on a Cory Murphy power-play goal midway through the second. The Condors regained their two-goal lead 4:59 into the third, but again, the Falcons climbed back to within one as Brian McConnell notched his first playoff goal at 8:27. The Falcons got a power-play late, and pulled Ryan MacDonald to make it a two-man advantage, but David Kudelka scored into an empty net with 41 seconds left to ice the win for Bakersfield.
GAME 4 - Sunday, April 15 vs. Bakersfield Condors 6 FALCONS 2
Bakersfield evened the series with a 6-2 win last night at Save Mart Center. The teams traded goals through the first 28 minutes of the contest with Luke Curtin and John Wroblewski scoring for the Falcons, with both of the goals knotting the score. Sean Venedam tallied a 5-on-3 power-play goal 16:13 into the second period putting the Condors on top to stay, with Kevin St. Jacques notching two insurance goals for Bakersfield, one with 31 seconds remaining in the second, and then capping his hat trick 3:33 into the final period. Alexandre Bolduc set the final, tallying Bakersfield's third power-play goal of the game at 18:49.
