Bakersfield Condors News Release

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Condors hosted 7,219 on Friday night in The Nest for Game 3, the largest crowd in Condors playoff history, to spark a 4-2 victory before heading to Fresno for Game 4. The spark turned into a fire as they lit up the Falcons 6-2 on Sunday night, thanks to a stellar performance from Kevin St. Jacques, who tallied a hat trick and six points, both Condors playoff records. Fresno jumped out to an early 2-0 lead and led 3- 1 early in the third. The Condors battled back to tie the game on a pair of Josh Liebenow goals early in the final period, but the Falcons exploded for four consecutive goals to take the win and steal home-ice from the Condors.

The Falcons started hot right from the get-go, scoring five consecutive goals over the first and second period. Steve Rodberg put the Condors on the board at 7:24 in the second, but the Condors were never able to battle back from the large deficit. The Falcons set an ECHL record for eight power play goals in the game. Andrew Ianiero had two goals for the Condors.

Friday, April 13:

CONDORS 4 vs. Fresno 2 (Attendance: 7,219)

After two tough losses, the Condors returned to The Nest for some home cookin' in front of 7,219, the largest playoff crowd in team history. The fans stood and cheered from the first drop of the puck, and were rewarded when David Kudelka tallied his first goal of the post-season just 48 seconds in. Following his lead, Kevin St. Jacques sent one home during a power play at 9:51 to give the Condors a 2-0 advantage after the first period. Both teams scored once in the second, setting up an exciting third period. With under a minute left and the score still 3-2 Condors, and Bakersfield down a man, Fresno pulled their goalie for an extra skater and a six-on-four advantage. After Mike Hofstrand got the puck out of the defensive zone, Kudelka was able to send a clearing drive down the ice and into the empty net to clinch the win.
