Trenton Devils News Release
DAYTON, OH (April 16, 2007) - The Trenton Titans could not overcome eleven power plays against nor a 30-14 shot disadvantage in a 1-0 loss to the Dayton Bombers on Monday at the Nutter Center.
Trenton was able to keep Dayton off the scoreboard in the first period despite 8:17 of power play time for the Bombers on four opportunities. It was until 14:07 of the middle frame that the Bombers finally broke the scoreless tie with their eighth chance on the man-advantage. Yannick Tifu was stationed at the far post and able to gobble up the rebound from Scott Ford's point shot and fire it into the net for his second of the postseason.
That would all the offense the Bombers would need as Dayton held Trenton to just 14 shots and also kept them scoreless on eight power plays. Adam Berkhoel gathered his sixth shutout of the year, as Joel Martin took the tough luck loss for the Titans despite a 29-save effort.
The Titans now trail the best-of-five series 2-0 with a must-win Game 3 looming on the horizon.
The Titans and Bombers take the ice for Game 3 on Thursday, April 19 at 7:00pm. Listen to all of the Titans action live on 91.3FM-WTSR or via B2 Networks at www.trentontitans.com
