Toledo Walleye News Release
Kelly Cup Playoff Watch
Game Three in Cincinnati! Toledo will look to extend the series Thursday night in Cincinnati. Game time is 7:30pm at US Bank Arena. Should Toledo extend the series, Game 4 is set for Friday night in Cincinnati. Game five, if necessary, is Sunday at 5pm inside the Toledo Sports Arena. Tickets are still available for that contest.
Backs Against the Wall! After losing consecutive games inside the Toledo Sports Arena, Toledo finds themselves facing elimination. The last time Toledo dropped the first two games of a postseason series was in the 2003 playoffs in which Cincinnati defeated Toledo 2 games to start a series and won that series 3 games to 1. Counting that series, Toledo has lost the first two of a series 4 times. The only time a Toledo has come back was in the 1993 Riley Cup Finals, in which Wheeling collected games 1 and 2 only to see the Storm win 4 consecutive games.
PLAYOFF NOTES
1. Grabbing a Record! Nick Parillo placed his name in the ECHL record book Saturday night, scoring just 6 seconds into the third period. That set a new record for the fastest goal scored to start a period in ECHL playoff history.
2. Seven! Toledo allowed 7 goals Saturday night in game 2. It was the first time all season that the Storm had allowed that many. The most allowed this season in any game was 6, which happened 7 different times.
3. Another Record! With the 2 losses this past weekend, Toledo now owns the ECHL record for most playoff losses (46). That goes along with ECHL records held by the Storm for most playoff wins (57), playoff games (103), years in playoffs (13), and most playoff home wins (38).
