Rockford, Illinois: Last night, Florence came in as the hottest team in baseball, coming off of a victory in Rockford last night, and a sweep of the Kalamazoo Kings at Champion Window Field. To Marinelli Field we go.
There were a few players for the Freedom who had stellar nights, Joe Holland was one of them, he went 3-5, with a run scored, raising his batting average to .250. Fan favorite Wally Quigg managed to get a hit in five ABs, his batting average sits at .270. Mike Galloway continued his hitting ways, going 1-5 with one run scored, his batting average stands at a league best .421. Darin Kinsolving continued his hot streak, hitting 2-3, with a RBI, putting his batting average at a comfortable .381. Scotty Martin went 2-4, but those seemed to be the only shining stars for Florence last night. All-Star Mike Dennison went to the mound for the Freedom, going four innings, giving up four runs on nine hits, striking out one. Freedom fall, 13-5.
The Freedom and Riverhawks wrap up their series, and first half of the season, tonight at Marinelli Field in Rockford Illinois.
