AVON, Ohio - The Florence Freedom scored six times with two outs in the fifth inning of Friday evening's contest at All Pro Freight Stadium, and took the series finale from the Crushers, 9-3.
The loss for the Crushers (42-34) snapped a four game home winning streak, while the victory for the Freedom (41-35) snapped a three game losing streak.
The scoring started in the top of the third. David Harris snapped a scoreless tie with a two-run homer, his ninth of the season, and Junior Arrojo followed with a single. Peter Fatse and Eddie Rodriguez followed with base hits, putting Arrojo on third, and he scored moments later on a wild pitch.
Most of the damage was done by the Freedom with two outs in the fifth inning. Eric Gonzalez-Diaz (6-7) retired the first two batters of the inning, before walking Fatse on 10 pitches. Seven consecutive singles followed the free pass to put the game out of reach.
