Florence, Kentucky: The Florence Freedom came into last night's game looking to win and trying to set up a series victory against the Gateway Grizzlies. Florence took a step in the right direction, beating Gateway 3-1 in game two at Champion Window Field.

All the offense from the Freedom came from two homeruns, Scott Pickens hit a two run homer, and Zack Schmidt sang a solo homerun. The Freedom only managed to slug out four hits on the night. Joel Posey pitched another solid game, going six and a third, only giving up one run on seven hits, striking out ten. Mickey O'Quinn came up big from the bullpen, pitching one and two/thirds innings of scoreless relief. Florence manager Jamie Keefe then gave the ball to Ted Rowe, who picked up his tenth save of the season.

The Freedom conclude the six game homestand tonight at Champion Window Field, they look to take the series from Gateway and split the homestand. First pitch at 7:05. Florence then heads out to Kalamazoo for a three game set beginning on Wednesday.
