
Brandon Smith "completes" series win for the Grizzlies

Brandon Smith tossed his second consecutive complete game, and his sixth overall as the Gateway Grizzlies shutout the Florence Freedom 3-0 in Florence, KY.
The Grizzlies are now 28-34. Florence falls to 37-26.
Smith struck out a career high 10 hitters, while allowing just four hits. He retired 15 of the last 16 hittes he faced. Smith's sixth complete game sets a new franchise record for complete games in a season. Pete Buck had five in 2003.
Jimmy Reiter had two RBIs in the win. He was 1-3 with a single and a sacrifice fly. Oscar Vargas had the only other run driven in. Vargas was 1-3. Shawn Smarsh was 1-2 in the win.
The Grizzlies and the Frontier League take a day off Tuesday before the Ohio Valley Redcoats come to town for a three-game series beginning Wednesday night. Game time Wednesday is 7:05 p.m.
