Kalamazoo, Michigan: The Freedom wrapped up a nine game road trip in style last night in Kalamazoo, beating the Kings in an 11 inning thriller.
The Freedom banged out 13 hits, only one going for extra bases. Greg Stone continued his tear, going 2-6, and scoring a run. Wally Quigg went 4-5 to raise his batting average to .387. Greg Buscher went 1-3 with an RBI, and Kyle Geswein chipped in an RBI of his own. Josh Sanchez seemed to be the spark of the offense last night, he went 3-4 with a double and an RBI. Jason Bowlin pitched a spectacular game for Florence, going seven innings, giving up two unearned runs on three hits, striking out three. Curt Moenter (3-3) picked up the win in relief, going three and two/thirds innings of scoreless baseball.
The Freedom come back to Florence today, and open up a three game series with the Windy City Thunderbolts at Champion Window Field tonight at 7:05. B.J. Church (0-1) is the scheduled starter for the Freedom.
