Washington Wild Things News Release
Washington, PA - The Washington Wild Things, presented by Washington Federal Savings Bank, fell to the Kalamazoo Kings 11-5 in the first game of the series.
The Wild Things jumped out to a 4-1 lead heading into the sixth inning, headlined by a Chris Carter two run home run in the first. However the lead did not hold, as the Kings poured on five runs in the bottom of the sixth, adding two more in the bottom of the seventh and three in the bottom of the eighth.
Catcher Matt Bok added his first hit and RBI this season for the Wild Things as they attempted to cut into the Kalamazoo lead. However the comeback was short lived as the Kings added five runs over the last two innings to win 11-5.
With the loss, Washington falls to 6-10 on the season and will challenge the Kalamazoo Kings in game two of their three game series tomorrow starting at 6:05pm. The next home game for Washington will be Tuesday, June 13 against the Florence Freedom.
