Florence, Kentucky: The bad run of Thirsty Thursdays continued last night. The game was preceded by a 90 minute rain delay. Finallly at about 8:30, the game was under way. It would be a while until we had a final score.

Rockford jumped out to a 4-1 early lead, but Florence chipped away at it in the following innings. After four, it was tied at four. Rockford put another one across in the fifth, and that lead stood until the ninth. With the bases loaded, and a 2-2 count on Eddie Kim, Josh Sanchez managed to score on a wild pitch to tie the game at five. That was all the Freedom were able to do. No one scored until the 12th, Rockford put two across and the Freedom failed to answer, falling to Rockford, 7-5.

Greg Stone was named player of the game, he went 1-3 with two RBI. Mike Galloway and Eddie Kim each were 2-5 with a run scored. Josh Sanchez went 1-3 with an RBI and a run scored, and he was hit by a pitch. Curt Moenter (8-5 2.53 ERA) picked up the loss in relief.

Florence will try to avoid the sweep tonight, first pitch at Champion Window Field is scheduled for 7:05. Gates are open at 5:30 for Happy Hour. Mitch Goins is the scheduled starter for the Freedom. After Rockford leaves town, the Freedom will welcome in the Traverse City Beach Bums for a three game series at Champion Window Field.
