Chillicothe, Ohio: With Washington losing 9-8 to Richmond, the Freedom were looking to reclaim first place in the East, and they did just that, defeating the Paints 4-3.
Mike Galloway continued to leave the park, he hit his 21st homerun of the season, a two run shot on his only hit of the night. Kyle Geswein went 1-2 with his 18th jack of the season. Scott Pickens threw out a couple of runners on the night, keeping the base paths mostly empty for Starter Jason Bowlin, who went seven innings, gave up two runs on ten hits, striking out one. Mike Causey pitched a scoreless eighth, and Ted Rowe closed the game down for his eighth save of the season.
Florence now sits atop the Frontier League East by a game over the Washington Wild Things. The Freedom play Chillicothe on Monday and Tuesday, but return to Champion Window Field on Wednesday.
