Florence, Kentucky: 1,582 fans strolled through the gates for "Wet your Whistle Wednesday" at Champion Window Field, and what a night for a ballgame it was.

Before the game, Josh Sanchez was named the OSC Player of the Week, Sanchez has been fantastic in the field, and consistent at the plate. Congratulations Josh.

Bottom first; very first batter for the Freedom, Greg Stone smacks his first homerun as a Florence Freedom, right over the leftfield fence. And just like that, it was a 1-0 ballgame. Bottom three; the Freedom blew the game wide open. Joe Holland hammered his first professional homerun, two batters later; Trevor Hall hit his 23rd homerun of the season. And after RBIs from Scott Pickens and Josh Sanchez, the Freedom had completed a six run inning, and lead 7-1. That lead was enough for Freedom pitching. Joel Posey (8-2) snapped his skid; he went seven innings, giving up two runs on six hits, striking out seven. He improved his ERA to 3.31. Mickey O'Quinn came in and pitched the eighth, while Curt Moenter finished the game in the ninth.

The Freedom are home for the remaining five games, two more against these Wild Things, and then the Richmond Roosters come into town for Labor Day weekend. Here is promotional info for the rest of the Washington series:
