Crestwood, IL - The ThunderBolts plated a run in every inning they hit in except the 8th to down the Mid-Missouri Mavericks 11-7 Thursday night at Hawkinson Ford Field. 6 ThunderBolts scored and every starter reached base.
Windy City had the edge going to the 3rd until Matt Ferrara blasted his 4th homer of the season with 2 runners on. In the 4th, Mike Lynch followed with a solo round-tripper of his own. The Bolts have hit at least one homer in 6 of the last 7 contests.
Windy City piled on in the 5th against Mid-Missouri reliever Steve Nielsen. Nate Whitney punched a 2-run double and Mike Lynch followed with a run-scoring single to plate the 9th run. Clemente Bonilla's 8th-frame RBI double concluded the scoring.
Josh Glynn earned his team-best 8th victory of the year with 6 innings of work and 4 earned runs allowed. He didn't walk a batter and K'd 6 in the game. He's now 8-6.
Lynch went a perfect 3-for-3 with a trio of RBI and 2 runs scored along with the 4th-inning dinger. Ferrara, Nate Whitney and Justin Schuda each recorded a pair of hits. Doug Schutt scored 3 times.
Tomorrow's game is the last home contest of the season for Windy City. The Bolts aim for the season home sweep against Mid-Missouri. The game starts at 7:05.
