Freedom and Grizzlies Washed out on Wednesday
May 29, 2019 - Frontier League (FL)
Florence Y'alls News Release
SAUGET, Il - The threat of on-going thunderstorms all night near St. Louis, Mo has forced the middle-game matchup between the Florence Freedom, presented by Titan Mechanical Solutions, and the Gateway Grizzlies to be postponed on Wednesday night.
The two West Division rivals will now square-off in a doubleheader beginning at 4:05 CST on Thursday, at GCS Credit Union Ballpark.
After taking game one of the series, 4-3, in eleven innings on Tuesday, the Freedom will be looking for their fourth series victory in the double-dip, and are 3-1 in series to start 2019 with one split.
Right-hander, Tyler Gibson (2-1) will take the ball for the Freedom in game one, with lefty Scott Sebald (0-0) slated to pitch the night-cap. The Grizzlies will counter with southpaw, Jordan Barrett (1-1) in the leader, saving righty, Chris Carden (2-0) for the series finale in Sauget, IL.
The Florence Freedom are members of the Independent Frontier League and play all home games at UC Health Stadium located at 7950 Freedom Way in Florence, KY. The Freedom can be found online at florencefreedom.com, or by phone at (859) 594-4487.
