The Owen Sound Attack named sophomore forward Marc Franchini the Becker Shoes Attacker of the Week for the week ending March 3rd, 2009

Franchini and the Attack opened up their week Friday on the road against the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. Franchini busted out of his slump in a huge way, scoring two third period goals to lead the Attack to a 4-3 win over the Hounds.

Saturday, the Attack traveled to Saginaw to take on the Spirit, looking for their third straight win. It was another tight game, but the Attack was able to pull through with a 4-3 overtime win. Franchini notched 1 goal and 1 assist.

Monday evening, Franchini and the Attack hosted the Plymouth Whalers in a make up game from November 21st game that was cancelled due to inclement weather. With the Attack trailing the Erie Otters by 2 points for 7th place and a head to head date with them coming up on Wednesday, 2 points against the red hot whalers would go a long way. The Attack battled hard the entire game and was able to skate to a 6-4 lead. Franchini tallied another goal and one more assist to lead the Attack to a 6-4 win.

Marc finished the three game set with 4 goals and 2 assists with 3 of the goals being either game tying goals or game winning goals.

The Attack is back in action this Wednesday evening when they visit the Erie Otters, a game that will go a long way in determining who will play the London Knights in the first round. All the action can be heard with Fred Wallace on Bruce Telecom Bear Radio, 560 CFOS.
