CHARLESTON, SC - The weather is heating up and so is the action at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park. The RiverDogs return to the Holy City after an eight-game road trip to take on the Augusta GreenJackets, the Single-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, from Wednesday through Saturday, May 12-15. The city's favorite professional sports team is giving the Charleston faithful four more unique and diverse opportunities to "Be Your Own Fan" this homestand with another Wild Wednesday, Thirsty Thursday, Piggly Wiggly Fireworks Friday and Chia Head Giveaway on Saturday.
True baseball fans can enjoy two games a day on May 14-15 as The Joe hosts two doubleheaders with The Citadel as the Bulldogs challenge Southern Conference rival UNC Greensboro both days before the RiverDogs' game. From Girl Scouts and Marines to amateur artists and $1 beer enthusiasts, the future Bronx Bombers are inviting all their "Be Your Own Fans" out to the ballpark this homestand.

Every Wednesday is an All-You-Can-Eat Wild Wednesday. For $20 one can enjoy all-you-can eat and drink menu items all game long in the Ashley View Pub. It's also BYOB ... Bring Your Own Brush. You can "Be Your Own Fan" and paint with local artist Sarah Hickey. Wild Wednesday and BYOB are presented by 96.9 The Wolf.

It is another Force Protection Red Shirt Friday, with Piggly Wiggly Post-Game Fireworks, Girl Scout Night and local author Joseph Wallace will sell autographed copies of his new book, "Diamond Ruby." We're also looking to set a new world record for largest game of telephone, thanks to Little Black Book. Friday's activities are presented by Force Protection Industries Inc., Piggly Wiggly and WEZL 103.5 FM.

It is another Kia Country of Charleston Saturday Night, with a Silly Bandz giveaway to the first 1,000 fans. We're also honoring our award-winning groundskeeper, Mike Williams, by giving away Chia Heads in his likeness. It's all presented by Kia Country of Charleston, WTAT Fox 24 and Wonder Works.
Wild Wednesday and Bring-Your-Own-Brush
Every Wednesday is an All-You-Can-Eat Wild Wednesday. For $20 fans can enjoy all-you-can eat and drink menu items all game long in the Ashley View Pub. BYOB and BYOF ... Bring Your Own Brush and "Be Your Own Fan" at the same time as one can paint with local artist Sarah Hickey. It's another Budweiser Thirsty Thursday with $1 beers and great deals on food in the Ashley View Pub. As much as we at the RiverDogs love our "Be Your Own Fans," nobody deserves more fans than the brave men and women of our armed forces. So help us honor these men and women that serve our country at our Force Protection Industries Inc. Military Appreciation night. All service men and women receive free admission when they present their military ID at the Box Office. Thirsty Thursday/Military Appreciate Night is presented by Budweiser, 95 SX and Force Protection Industries Inc.

Whether you're a Girl Scout, a baseball nut or just a fan of fireworks and fun, it's shaping up to be a great Friday to "Be Your Own Fan." Every Friday is a Force Protection Red Shirt Friday; fans that wear a red shirt get a dollar off on the walk-up ticket price and then have the option to donate that dollar to a military family with parents fighting overseas. The RiverDogs' faithful will also be treated to a spectacular Piggly Wiggly fireworks exhibition following the game.
The team also welcomes local Girl Scout Troops to The Joe for Girl Scout Night as the girls can earn badges as they enjoy the game.Additionally, local author Joseph Wallace will be here selling autographed copies of his new book, "Diamond Ruby," that is based on the true story of Ruby Lee Thomas, a female pitcher from New York who struck out baseball legends Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. Also, Little Black Book is lending a hand as we try to set the Guinness World Record for Largest Game of Telephone. Chia Head & Silly Bandz Giveaway Night/Field of the Year/SAL Groundskeeper of the Year Celebration
It's another Kia Country of Charleston Saturday at the Ballpark as festivities get started early with the gates opening at 6 pm. Don't forget that after the game, kids 12-and under can run the bases. For our "Be Your Own Fans" of FREE stuff, we've got TWO giveaways for you to stand up and cheer for: first, if the beautiful field at The Joe is part of your "Be Your Own Fan" experience, help us thank our award-winning groundskeeper, Mike Williams. We're honoring the SAL Groundskeeper of the Year by giving away 1,000 Chia Heads in his likeness, presented by My TV Charleston; and second, we'll be handing out free Silly Bandz to the first 1,000 fans at the park, courtesy of Wonder Works.
