Four Lake Monsters Selected to 2012 NY-Penn League All-Star Game

BURLINGTON, VT ---  Outfielders John Wooten and Austin Booker, infielder Chris Bostick and pitcher Kris Hall are the four Vermont Lake Monsters selected to play in the New York-Penn League All-Star Game in Mahoning Valley on Tuesday, August 14th at Eastwood Field in Niles, Ohio, the league announced today with the release of the full rosters for the game.

Wooten leads the Lake Monsters with a .304 average, 56 hits, 14 doubles, four homers, 29 RBI and has played in 47 of Vermont's 49 games. A 38th-round pick in 2012 Draft out of East Carolina University, Wooten has hit safely in 38 of his 47 games played including 13 multi-hit games and a 13-game hitting streak July 14-26 (10-for-26, .385).

Booker is hitting .299 (23-for-77) with 10 runs, two doubles and seven RBI in 24 games for Vermont. A 33rd-round pick in 2011 Draft out of the University of California, Booker has hit safely in 20 of his 24 games started including a 13-game hitting streak (16-for-40, .400) June 22nd through July 19th.

Bostick is leading Vermont with 30 runs, three triples and nine stolen bases, while hitting .279 (48-for-172) with nine doubles, three homers and 17 RBI in 43 games. A 44th-round pick in 2011 Draft out of Aquinas Institute in Rochester, New York, Bostick has hit safely in 31 of his 43 games including 13 multi-hit games.

Hall is 2-0 with a 0.82 in 10 appearances (two starts) for the Lake Monsters with 11 walks and 22 strikeouts over 22 innings. An eighth-round pick in 2012 Draft out of Lee University, Hall has a 0.55 ERA in eight relief outings with two runs (one earned) on nine hits with nine walks and 21 strikeouts over 16 1/3 innings.

The New York-Penn League All-Star Game matches prospects from the seven National League affiliates (Auburn, Batavia, Brooklyn, Jamestown, State College, Tri-City and Williamsport) against the seven American League affiliates (Aberdeen, Connecticut, Hudson Valley, Lowell, Mahoning Valley, Staten Island and Vermont).
