Four Join Gladiators from AHL training camps

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that they have been assigned defenseman Evan Nielsen from the Chicago Wolves, while defenseman Paul Flache was assigned to the Gladiators from the Atlanta Thrashers and the Binghamton Senators assigned goaltender Adam Munro to the Gladiators. Forward Brandon Dietrich also joins the Gladiators after being released by the Chicago Wolves.

Nielsen comes to the Gladiators after attending the Chicago Wolves and the Atlanta Thrashers training camps. Last season, Neilson played in five games with the Wolves after finishing his final season at Notre Dame. The defenseman tallied 16 goals in 156 games with the Irish.

Flache also joins the Gladiators after attending the Wolves and the Thrashers training camps. Selected by Atlanta Thrashers in the 5th round of the 2002 NHL entry draft with the #144 pick overall, Flache tallied 1 goal and 9 assists in 46 games with the Greenville Grrrowl last season.

Munro comes to the Gladiators after attending the Ottawa Senators and Binghamton Senators training camps respectively. A rookie out of St. George, Ontario, Munro won 20 games in goal last season for Sault-Ste. Marie of the Ontario Hockey League last season where he posted .894 save percentage and one shutout.

A fourth year pro out of St. Lawrence University, Dietrich also attended the Thrashers and Wolves training camps. The 6-foot, 190-pound forward split time last season between the Manchester Monarchs of the AHL and the Reading Royals. In 77 games last year, Dietrich accumulated 60 points off of 20 goals and 40 assists.

The Gladiators training camp continues through October 16th with two-a-day practices until Thursday, October 9th.
