October 8, 2003 - ECHL (ECHL)
Mississippi Sea Wolves News Release

BILOXI, Miss. – Mississippi Sea Wolves coach and director of hockey operations Bob Woods announced that the team acquired defenseman Antoine Bergeron (AHN-twahn BUHR-jehr-ahwn) from the Reading Royals for futures. Later in the day, Bergeron was dealt to the Trenton Titans for defenseman Kerry Ellis-Toddington (EHL-iss TAWD-ihng-tuhn).

Bergeron, 21, appeared in 37 games with Reading last season, notching one goal and six assists, while accumulating 49 penalty minutes.

Ellis-Toddington, 24, saw action last season with Cincinnati of the American Hockey League, Richmond and Pensacola of the ECHL totaling eight goals, 22 assists and 45 penalty minutes in 75 games. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound native of Regina, Saskatchewan enters his second season of professional hockey.

"Kerry impressed me last year with Pensacola," said Woods. "He's a young defenseman that I expect will fit in really well into our line-up."

The addition brings the Sea Wolves training camp roster to 21, featuring eight defensemen, 11 forwards and two goaltenders.

Mississippi hits the ice for a 10 a.m. practice tomorrow at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum, which is open to the public.
