Albuquerque Isotopes News Release

Four players that were key to the Albuquerque Isotopes' dramatic pennant run will continue their seasons in the Major Leagues, as Reggie Abercrombie, Robert Andino, Brett Carroll, and Ross Wolf have been called up to the Florida Marlins and will join the big league team tomorrow.

Abercrombie enjoyed a stellar season in his first stay at Triple-A, setting an Isotopes franchise record with 41 stolen bases while adding a .323 batting average, 23 doubles, nine triples, 16 home runs, and 52 RBI entering today's play. This will be the outfielder's second trip to the Majors this season, having appeared in 20 games for the Fish from May 6 to June 23.

Shortstop Andino was also excellent this season, garnering both PCL Mid-season and All-PCL Post-season team recognition after batting .279 with a team-high 13 triples. Andino also set career-highs by belting 13 homers and driving in 50 runs on the year.

Carroll's call-up completes a whirlwind season for the outfielder, who began 2007 in Double-A Carolina before joining the Isotopes on May 9. In 88 games, Carroll batted .314 with 19 homers and 70 RBI, including a career-high three-home run contest against Omaha on July 18. On June 17, Carroll made his Major League debut and appeared in 11 games for Florida before returning to the 'Topes on July 1.

Like Carroll, relief pitcher Wolf also made his big league debut this season, appearing in six games for the Marlins from August 10 to August 26. For Albuquerque, Wolf was solid in his second year at the Triple-A level, going 4-3 with a 3.42 ERA in 45 games with two saves.
