Tucson Drops Final Game of Season 12-1

Tucson, AZ - The Sacramento RiverCats completed a four game sweep of the Tucson Sidewinders with a 12-1 win on the final day of the regular season. Sacramento starter, RHP Andrew Bailey took a no hitter into the seventh. 3B Jamie D'Antona singled to left with two outs. Tucson did not get a baserunner until C Mark Johnson drew a two out walk in the fifth.

At the plate, Sacramento went 16-for-44 as a team. They were led by CF Nick Blasi who went 4-for-6 with 2 runs and 5 RBI. He was a triple short of the cycle.

DJ Carrasco tossed forty pitches in the top of the first as Sacramento batted around and put up eight runs on seven hits. The first inning explosion was capped by a Blasi grand slam to deep left.

Sacramento batted around for the second time in the fourth inning. They added four runs to extend the lead to 12-0. C Jeremy Brown reached on a strike three wild pitch and scored on a Melillo single to get the rally started. A single by 2B Eduardo Cornejo and a ground rule double by Blasi added the other runs.

Carrasco left the game in the fourth. In 3 ½ innings of work he gave up 10 runs, all earned, on 11 hits and 2 walks.

Tucson's only run came off a sac fly in the 8th.
