Indianapolis Indians News Release

TOLEDO, OH -- The Toledo Mud Hens' (61-64) offense lifted four home runs in support of starter Shawn Hill's six scoreless frames in an 11-0 shutout of the Indianapolis Indians (62-63) on Wednesday night at Fifth Third Field.

Wade Gaynor took Tribe starter Adam Wilk deep with a three-run blast that capped the Mud Hens' six-run first inning. Toledo's slugger reached the plate after a misplayed ball at second base allowed two unearned runs to score and keep the opening frame alive.

Jake Brigham took over in the second and allowed five runs on eight hits, including three homers, over his 4 2/3 innings. The right-hander yielded a two-run shot to both James McCann and Mike Hessman before Hernan Perez connected off the reliever on a sixth-inning solo bomb that gave the Mud Hens their final tally of the game.

With the large cushion, Hill cruised to his fifth win of the season and first with his new club. He scattered six knocks with one walk and three strikeouts in his 2014 Toledo debut.

Jim Johnson and Chad Smith matched scoreless efforts from Josh Wall and Andy Oliver to preserve Hill's win and the combined shutout.

Brent Morel and Andrew Lambo each went 2-for-4 to finish with four the Tribe's seven total hits.
