Niagara IceDogs News Release

The Niagara IceDogs scored four goals in the second period, en route to a 5-1 win over the Plymouth Whalers Friday night at the Meridian Centre.

Mathew Campagna scored the only goal of the first period to give the Whalers a 1-0 lead after t20 minutes.

After that, the IceDogs took over. Anthony DiFruscia scored 3:11 into the second to tie the game, before Brendan Perlini gave the IceDogs the lead just over a minute later. Blake Siebenaler made it 3-1 and Perlini's second of the night on the power play capped off a four-goal period for the IceDogs.

Another power play goal in the third from Graham Knott made it 5-1 and gave the IceDogs a big two points.

With the win and the Kingston Frontenacs loss to the Kitchener Rangers, the IceDogs have moved up to sixth place in the Eastern Conference.

The IceDogs are back at it Sunday afternoon when they host the Barrie Colts in their annual Pink in the Rink game. A great event that supports the Canadian Cancer Society and women's cancer research.
