Peoria, IL (February 28, 2006) - Peoria Rivermen General Manager of Hockey Operations Kevin McDonald announced today that the Rivermen parent club St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League (NHL) has reassigned center Ryan Ramsay (RAM-zee) from the Alaska Aces of the ECHL to the Rivermen.

Ramsay, 22, returns to Peoria for his third stint with the Rivermen this season. In 32 games played for Peoria so far in 2005-06, the 5-11, 205-pound centerman has recorded four goals, six assists, 47 penalty minutes, and 47 shots on goal. His numbers with ECHL Alaska this season include 17 appearances, 20 points (8 goals, 12 assists), 30 minutes in penalties, and 49 shots on goal. The native of Ajax, Ontario, originally signed with the St. Louis Blues as an undrafted free agent on October 8, 2004.

The Rivermen are a proud new member of the AHL. Founded in 1936, the AHL now serves as the primary development league for all 30 National Hockey League teams and is celebrating its 70th anniversary season in 2005-06.
