Flames Return Giordano To Omaha

Omaha, NE - The Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights announced today that the Calgary Flames, their National Hockey League affiliate, have re-assigned defenseman Mark Giordano to Omaha. Giordano was recalled on February 26th but did not play in any games. He is expected to join the Knights in time for their home game on Friday against the Manitoba Moose.

Giordano has played in all 59 games for the Knights this season, scoring 12 goals and 34 assists for 46 points. He leads the team in scoring and is also first in assists. He ranks fourth in scoring among AHL defensemen. He is in a six-way tie for first in powerplay goals with nine. Earlier this season, he set the franchise mark for consecutive games with a point (7).

The native of Toronto, Ontario made his professional debut during the 2004-05 campaign after playing 133 games in the Ontario Hockey League with Owen Sound posting 97 points (32 goals, 65 assists) and 181 penalty minutes. The Flames signed Giordano as a free agent on July 6, 2004.

The Knights will host Manitoba on Friday at 7:00 p.m. They'll finish the weekend on Sunday afternoon when they welcome the Peoria Rivermen at 5:00 p.m.

Tickets for all home games are available at the Civic Auditorium box office, Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The box office is open through the opening face-off on game nights.
