Forney Sent to Gwinnett

The Atlanta Thrashers have reassigned left wing MICHAEL FORNEY from the Chicago Wolves to the ECHL's Gwinnett Gladiators.

FORNEY posted one assist in four games with the Wolves this season. The 22-year-old forward made his professional debut and appeared in three games with Chicago last year. He also amassed 11 goals, 26 points and 66 penalty minutes in 63 ECHL contests with the Gwinnett Gladiators during his rookie campaign.

Prior to turning pro, the Thief River Falls, Minn., native led the Green Bay Gamblers (USHL) with 60 points, tied for first with 26 goals and held second with 34 assists in 59 outings in 2008-09. He also tallied two assists and 12 penalty minutes in 19 career outings with the University of North Dakota (WCHA), spanning two seasons (2006-08).
