Abbotsford, B.C. - Michal Repik scored on a Rochester power play with just over five minutes to play in the third period as the Rochester Americans edged the Abbotsford Heat 2-1 in AHL action on Tuesday night in Abbotsford..

Rochester would get the sole goal of the first period as Kendall McArdle would convert off the cycle, picking up a deflected pass inside from Evgeny Dadanov and snapping a wrist shot past Heat goalie Matt Keetley. It was 1-0 after a tightly contested first period for the Americans.

The defensive play would continue in the second with only a few chances on offense for both sides. Abbotsford though would manage to tie the game as Matt Keith would take a pass from Carter Bancks on the far boards and blast it top corner far side past Amerks goalie Tyler Plante.

Even though Abbotsford managed to limit Rochester to 1 shot in the first 10 minutes of the third period, an unfortunate penalty late in the game from Abbotsford's J.D. Watt would lead to former Vancouver Giant Michael Repik burying a power play goal, making it a 2-1 final for the Americans.

The Heat remains in first place in the North Division despite the loss and will now prepare for a matchup with the Milwaukee Admirals on Friday night in Abbotsford. Tickets can be purchased by calling 1-877-452-HEAT (4328) or by purchasing online at www.abbotsfordheat.com.
